Chocolate Spice Cookies
Between the applesauce, chocolate, and spices, this cookie wraps up every fall memory you can think of. And the best part of this memory is that you can enjoy it any time of the year!

What you need:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup alkalized (Dutch-process) cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 oz (4 Tbs) Lurpak® Unsalted Imported Butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- Tools:
- 2 cookie sheets lined with parchment
What to do:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl; set aside.
- With an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Stir in molasses and applesauce.
- Stir in dry ingredients, mixing until it makes a soft dough.
- Drop tablespoons of dough, one inch apart on the prepared pans.
- Bake cookies for 10 minutes, rotating baking pans halfway through the baking.
- Cool for 10 minutes in pans before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack.
TIP: To store, layer cookies in an air-tight container with wax paper to separate each layer.
