Chocolate Chip Brownies

These decadent dark-chocolate brownies will satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. Whether you like your brownies cake-like or fudge-like, with frosting on top or without, this basic recipe is a sure-fire starter for a classic, rich treat.

What you need:

  • For brownies:
  •
  • 1 1/8 cups Lurpak Lighter Spreadable
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa content)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups plain flour sifted with a pinch of salt
  • 6 oz dark chocolate chips

What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line bottom of a non-stick baking pan (9x9x2-
    inches) with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a saucepan over a low heat, set aside and cool.
  3. Meanwhile whisk eggs and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Mix in the chocolate mixture and then stir in vanilla.
  4. Fold flour and salt into chocolate mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and stir though.
  5. Transfer batter to the baking pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes. To check for doneness: pierce the surface with a knife – you want a little bit of steam or batter on the blade as the brownies will continue to cook once they out of the oven.
